Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on 27 January 1756 to composer Leopold Mozart in Salzburg. Name in full: Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart.
Mozart, at the age of 4/5, compose his first music pieces K.1 - K. 5.
(1762-1766) Mozart and his family leave Salzburg for Grand Tour across Europe: Munich, Vienna, Paris, London, The Hague. Friendship with composers Wagenseil, J.C.Bach son of J.S.Bach and, in Salzburg, with Michael Haydn brother of Joseph.
(1769-1773) Mozart and his father travel across Italy and have first operas performed in Milan. Friendship with composers Hasse, Mysliveček and Martini. Empress Maria Theresa orders not to give job commissions to Mozart. Enmity with Gluck.
(1773-1777) Mozart works mainly in Salzburg. Popular success in Munich with his opera La finta giardiniera.
(1777-1779) Mozart in Paris. During their stay in Paris his mother dies 3 July 1778.
(1779-1781) Mozart again works mainly in Salzburg. Popular success in Munich with his opera Idomeneo.
(1781-1791) Mozart leaves Salzburg, after being dismissed by the Archbishop 'with a kick in the arse'. Following the example of his friend composer Vanhal, Mozart settles in Vienna as a freelance performer and composer. He will remain in Vienna until his death.
(1782) Great success of his opera Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Mozart marries Constanze Weber.
(1784) Mozart meets his friend Joseph Haydn, he is already friend of his brother Michael Haydn who works in Salzburg. On 14 December 1784 Mozart becomes a Freemason.
(1786-1790) Thanks to the collaboration with librettist Da Ponte, Mozart writes his three great Italian operas: Le nozze di Figaro (1786), Don Giovanni (1787), Così fan tutte (1790).
(1787) Mozart's father Leopold dies 28 May 1787. Probably in 1787 young Beethoven meets Mozart, to receive a few lessons. Beethoven then will become a pupil of J. Haydn.
(1791) In his final year Mozart, in financial difficulty and after having tried to leave Vienna for Berlin or London or other cities in Germany, writes some of his masterpieces. The Magic Flute, Clarinet Concerto, Ave verum corpus and the Requiem, left unfinished and completed according to the will of his wife Constanze. His last resting place is a mystery.
